Clickable, realistic prototypes that let stakeholders and test users experience a flow before a line of code is written.

A prototype turns an abstract discussion into something people can actually use, which is how you find problems early and get decisions made.

I build prototypes at whatever fidelity the question needs - rough enough to test navigation, or polished enough to demo to investors and clients.

What a prototype is for

A prototype answers a question. Before building it, we decide what that question is: does this navigation make sense, can users complete this task, does this flow convince an investor?

The fidelity follows from the question. Testing whether people can find something needs only greyscale screens wired together. Demoing to investors needs the polished thing. Building more fidelity than the question requires is wasted effort.

Prototypes for usability testing

A clickable prototype is the cheapest way to discover that a flow does not work, because nothing has been built yet. I wire the core journeys with realistic interactions and run participants through real tasks.

Problems found at this stage cost hours to fix. The same problems found after launch cost weeks.

Prototypes for buy-in

Written specs and static mockups ask people to imagine the product. A prototype lets them use it, which is far more persuasive in an investor meeting, a stakeholder review or a sales conversation.

These are built in Figma and shared as a link, so anyone can click through in a browser with nothing to install and comment directly on the screens.

Interactive Prototype - common questions

What tool do you build prototypes in?

Figma, most of the time. It means you can click through the prototype in a browser with no software to install, and comment directly on the screens.

Can the prototype be used for investor presentations?

Yes. For that purpose I build at high fidelity with realistic content and transitions, so it behaves closely enough to a real product to carry a demo.

How it works

How a interactive prototype engagement actually runs, start to finish.

Step 01

Scope

Decide which flow the prototype needs to prove.

Step 02

Build

Wire the screens together with realistic interactions.

Step 03

Test

Put it in front of users or stakeholders and capture reactions.

Step 04

Refine

Fold what you learn back into the design.
