Storefronts designed and built by the same person.
Custom Shopify theme development, store setup and conversion-focused storefront design - designed and built end to end, so nothing is lost in handoff.
I design and build Shopify storefronts rather than handing a design to someone else to interpret. That removes the most common source of disappointment in ecommerce projects: a store that looks nothing like the design that was signed off.
Work ranges from customising an existing theme to building a custom one from scratch, plus the conversion work that actually moves revenue - product page structure, cart and checkout flow, collection filtering and mobile performance.
Most stores do not need a fully custom theme. A well-chosen paid theme, customised properly, gets you 90% of the way for a fraction of the cost and stays easier to maintain through Shopify platform updates.
A custom theme makes sense when your merchandising is genuinely unusual, when the brand needs something no theme can express, or when you have outgrown the constraints of theme settings. I will tell you honestly which situation you are in - recommending a custom build when a customisation would do is an easy way to double an invoice and I would rather keep the client.
Storefront design has a few high-leverage areas and a lot of decoration. The product page carries most of the weight: image quality and order, how variants are selected, where price and delivery information sit, how reviews and trust signals are placed.
After that it is collection pages and filtering, because a shopper who cannot narrow 200 products to the 6 they want will leave. Then cart and checkout friction. I focus effort in that order rather than spreading it evenly across the site.
Ecommerce traffic skews mobile and often arrives on poor connections from an ad click. Every app you install adds script weight, and a store carrying a dozen apps is usually carrying a serious performance problem.
I audit app usage as part of the build, remove what is not earning its weight, lazy-load what can wait, and keep image delivery tight. Performance work on a storefront is conversion work, not a technical nicety.
Store setup or theme audit, storefront design across desktop and mobile, theme development in Liquid, product and collection template work, app integration and cleanup, and a handover document covering how to maintain what has been built.
I also set up the things that are tedious but matter: structured data for products so they appear correctly in search results, correct metadata across templates, and redirects if you are migrating from an existing store.
Theme customisation typically runs one to two weeks of work; a custom theme build runs three to six weeks. At $24 per hour or $900 per week that puts most customisation projects in the low thousands and custom builds higher, depending on template count.
Yes. Migration covers products, collections, customers and orders, plus the URL redirects that preserve your existing search rankings - the step most migrations skip and then regret.
Both. Most stores are better served by customising a well-built theme, which is faster and easier to maintain. I recommend a custom theme only when your merchandising or brand genuinely requires it.
That is a core part of the work. I audit installed apps for script weight, lazy-load non-critical assets and keep image delivery tight, because storefront speed on mobile is directly a conversion issue.
